Hi! My name is Bethy Fleshman and I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and an ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor. I played sports most of my life but stopped exercising regularly after having my first kid in 2007. I started going to group exercise classes in 2015 and rediscovered my love of exercise, especially in a social setting. I love exercising with other people! I became a personal trainer to help other people rediscover or discover for the first time their love of movement. I want you know that you can do it, too! I would love work with you and help you be the best you possible! When I’m not at the Y I’m usually hanging out with my husband and four children playing games, watching TV, or going to numerous sports, drama, or robotics events.
My name is Amy Bomar and I am an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, ACE Certified Group Exercise Instructor, and hold 500 hours of training as a Yoga Teacher. My training style combines my love of human motion and passion for helping others to move better in their bodies. My goals are for each individual to walk away with a successful workout, strong awareness of how their body moves, and learn something new so they can further challenge themselves toward their goals.
If I’m not training or teaching I enjoy being with my family, playing outside, camping, traveling, cooking, studying human movement performance and moonlighting as an aerial artist.
My name is Dan Harer and I am an Ace Certified Personal Trainer. I have a passion for exercise and the connection between body and mind. I look forward to helping you grow. My name is Lindsey and I have been in the fitness field for over 15 years. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Bastyr University and I am an ACE certified personal trainer. When I’m not in the gym, I am chasing after my young son Beckett who is even more active than I am.
Becoming a NASM-CPT was a natural transition for me after being a collegiate basketball coach for the past 20 years. Sports, movement, and nutrition have been integral in my life as a former collegiate basketball player at UW (Go Dawgs!) Though not pacing a college sideline anymore, I find joy in coaching my kids youth sports team. My goal is to help individuals find their inner athlete, strength, and confidence through movement. Health and wellness is a long journey that is not a straight line. My inner coach would love to help keep you motivated, encouraged, and challenged so you can reach your goals.
I’ve been active my entire life with sports, martial arts, dance, and eventually finding my way into the fitness industry through group exercise. I discovered how beneficial personal training could be after working with one to achieve my “perfect body,” but also realized some hard truths after I lost it when I could no longer afford to work with them anymore. I became a trainer because I have a passion for giving people the knowledge, tools, and “why” behind things so that we can make progress together, but also so they can continue if their life’s circumstances change. I am a NASM certified trainer and hold several certifications in different group exercise formats. I have an aquatic and swim instruction background for those looking for cross-training in the pool, aquatic exercise with my swim instruction and coaching certifications. I also am a competitive rower and martial artist, and so I also work well with athletes and those looking to increase performance.
I am a ACE certified trainer who enjoys working with people of all backgrounds and ages. Developing good habits and discipline is always important to me when training. My background is Taekwondo as a second degree black belt instructor, as well as MMA where I have competed and helped prepare and condition athletes and hobbyists alike. I am passionate about seeing people succeed and grow their own intrinsic motivation to make fitness a way of life. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
I have been working in the fitness industry for over ten years and have multiple certifications. My journey of losing over 90 lbs has helped me realize how important a healthy, whole foods diet combined with daily movement is to feeling and moving well; without pain. I started by teaching fitness classes and moved to training 1:1 to maximize the individualization that each client needs. I love helping clients improve poor posture, get over old injuries, and realign their body to get stronger. I have extra specializations with Pre and Postnatal populations, Pilates, Fitness Nutrition and Corrective Exercise, Senior Fitness and Brain Health Training.
In my spare time I love to hike, read, spend time with family and friends. I’m always on the search for good food and wine. Motto: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. Invest in YOU.”
As a certified personal trainer, my passion is helping people achieve their fitness goals, no matter where they are on their journey.
I specialize in a range of training styles, and am National Academy of Sports Medicine – Personal Trainer Certified. My ultimate goal is to teach individuals how to live healthy, balanced lives while still enjoying all that life has to offer.
In my fitness journey, I am drawn to bodybuilding, and running.
While I’ve been working out off and on my entire life, there were always barriers to being consistent-having babies, a career, and lack of time (or motivation!). I discovered a passion for fitness in 2015 when I found some group exercise classes at the Y that got me hooked! I soon noticed changes-I felt better physically, I was stronger, had a lot more energy, and I knew that fitness had become a permanent and very important part of my life.
I wanted to share my love of exercise and fitness with others. I have been teaching group exercise classes since 2017 and then became a personal trainer. I know that life can get in the way of having a consistent workout routine and that many times people don’t know how to start. As a personal trainer my goal is for you to not only be the healthiest and happiest version of you but also for you to develop lifelong fitness habits. My certifications and licenses include- NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Senior Fitness Specialization, NASM Balance Training Specialization, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, MOSSA Group Power, TRX, Silver Sneakers Certified Instructor, Zumba Fitness and Zumba Kids.
Health and wellness have always been areas of interest for me, which is why I enrolled in a nutrition course at EVCC. It was an eye-opening experience that prompted me to pursue further education. I completed a course through the National Academy of Sports Medicine to become a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and group exercise instructor. As I continue my education with NASM, I’ve experienced significant improvements in my own life, including stress management, emotional well-being, fat loss, muscle development, and increased energy levels. Now, I aspire to inspire others to achieve their personal health goals. I know that starting a new exercise routine or giving up a late-night pizza habit can be challenging. Therefore, I believe that people are more successful in making positive changes and sticking with the plan when they have support.
My fitness journey began in 2004 after losing 114 pounds. Fueled by the belief that functional movement is essential for everybody; no matter their size, age or fitness history, I began teaching group exercise classes in 2013 and haven’t looked back!
I coach in an energetic manner with positive reinforcement and motivation. Understanding that every client is unique and so are their needs, I tailor each session specific to them. Together, we will work on pushing through barriers and getting results! My goal is to help others increase their quality of life and find strength and confidence, both mentally and physically. Let me help find the best version of you! Certifications: NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Zumba, Zumba Gold, Strong Nation, Group Power, Group Core, Group Ride, R30, 3D30, Move30, TRX and Tabata Bootcamp.
I was born and raised in the Seattle area and attended the University of Oregon. Go Ducks! While I’ve always loved to move, it wasn’t until I was an adult that I joined the Y with my family. Since then it’s been a happy place where I can try new classes, rehab injuries, and let off some steam. Fitness is still a big part of my family’s life.
Professionally I have always been interested in how people’s physical experience, values, and goals influence each other. I have been an ACE-certified personal trainer for four years. I specialize in working with clients who are new to gyms, intimidated by the gym environment, recovering from injury, or simply looking to build their strength and fitness. My training method emphasizes functional movement, body alignment, and body awareness. To keep things engaging for my clients, I enjoy using a variety of equipment. I believe that fitness can be enjoyable and I try to make it as fun as possible.
When I’m not at the Y, I like to create art, spend time outside with my family (which includes a dog), go to museums and concerts, and watch good sports documentaries.
My name is Jaryd, I have been with the YMCA for almost 6 years now. I’ve been working in the SAC program at Little Cedars Elementary and just became NASM certified this year to personal train.
