About Us
YMCA of Snohomish County is a cause-driven nonprofit dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Since 1901, we’ve stood with our communities—through times of growth and challenge—committed to ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Our programs nurture potential, strengthen families, promote wellness, and foster belonging. Rooted in equity and inclusion, we welcome all people, from every background and life stage, to be part of a stronger, more connected community.

Our History
Since 1901, YMCA of Snohomish County has been showing up for the people of this region.
It started with a single building in downtown Everett and the vision of a handful of volunteers who believed their community deserved a place to gather, grow, and belong.
Today, that vision has grown into six branches, YMCA Camp Casey on Whidbey Island, two Early Learning Centers, and 29 child care sites – making us the largest child care provider and longest-serving nonprofit in Snohomish County.

The original Everett Y building.
We serve thousands of children, families, adults, and seniors every year with programs that build confidence, create belonging, and foster community.
We believe every kid deserves a safe place to grow. Every adult deserves access to health and community. Every family – regardless of income or background – deserves to thrive. That's why financial assistance is built into everything we do, and why our doors are open to all.
From first swim lessons to overnight adventures at YMCA Camp Casey, from early childhood programs to senior fitness, the Y is where people across Snohomish and Island counties come to find achievement, belonging, and friendship. That's been true for 125 years – and it drives everything we continue to do today.
