Impacting Tomorrow Together
The YMCA movement lasts. It is stable, values-based, professionally managed, in touch with current needs, and capable of meeting the changing conditions of the future. Many friends of the Y choose to extend their influence through the Y beyond their own lifetimes by sharing some of the assets they have accumulated through making gifts to the Y’s permanent endowment fund.
The Heritage Club
Members of the YMCA Heritage Club are individuals and families who have made designated gifts to the YMCA of Snohomish County Endowment Fund, ensuring the Y’s ability to be a positive force in the community for years to come. Heritage Club members share a common desire to build a strong future through the work of the Y.
The Heritage Club encourages thoughtful gifts from donors as a primary means of building a strong endowment fund capable of providing financial support to the Y’s mission in perpetuity. Currently there are 163 families and individuals who are members of the YMCA Heritage Club.
In 2016 the Endowment Fund was valued at $3,900,000 with annual distributions totaling $136,000. The allocations are disbursed to each of our six branch locations and Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliate to help ensure that critical programs and services are provided.
Heritage Club members have made an immediate or planned gift to the YMCA’s endowment fund in one of the following ways:
- An outright gift of cash or other tangible assets
- Charitable gift annuity
- Charitable trust
- Retirement asset
- Life Insurance proceeds
