Funko Field At-Home 5K benefiting the YMCA of Snohomish County

EVERETT, WASHINGTON, April 22, 2020 – The Everett AquaSox announced their first virtual 5K—the Funko Field At-Home 5K benefiting the YMCA of Snohomish County. The 5K will take place Friday, April 24 through Sunday, May 3. General 5K registration is $10. In addition, the AquaSox have a $25 Promotional Bundle available which includes 5K registration, a Funko Field t-shirt, and 2 undated ticket vouchers to an AquaSox home game. 100% of the $10 registration will support the YMCA of Snohomish County’s COVID Response Fund.

To participate, you must register for the Funko Field At-Home 5K, through the AquaSox 5K page at: http://bit.ly/3ccQiVe. Beginning April 24 through May 3, you can walk/run the length of a 5K; 5 kilometers or 3.1 miles. You can do it all at once or finish it throughout the week. The AquaSox and the Y encourage participants to share their photos and results on social media using the hashtags #FunkoField5K and #YMCASnoco.

The Everett AquaSox have been a close community partner of the YMCA of Snohomish County for many years. As of March 16, the YMCA of Snohomish County’s six health and wellness facilities closed their doors in accordance with the Stay Home Stay Healthy order by the Governor Inslee. Since the close, the Y has stepped up to serve emerging community needs including child care for first responders, health care workers, and essential personnel; providing health meals for families; keeping our seniors connected and engaged; and providing live and on-demand wellness classes.

The Everett AquaSox continues to support the Y and the community during these challenging times. “We knew we wanted to find a way to support our community during these very difficult times,” said AquaSox General Manager Danny Tetzlaff. “As a virtual 5K, the Funko Field At-Home 5K does that by partnering with the YMCA in a fun, safe, and healthy activity for everyone. This helps us bring the community together as we all wait for the return of AquaSox baseball at Funko Field.”
