Severe Weather Policy
In order to ensure the safety of our members and staff, the YMCA of Snohomish County branches (Everett, Marysville, Mill Creek, Monroe, Mukilteo, Stanwood-Camano) may be closed in the event of an emergency or severe weather. The YMCA facility closure policy is as follows:
- Branch closure is contingent upon the changing weather conditions that day. In the event of severe weather, your local Y may adjust its hours. Call your branch or check the branch Facebook page for specific information.
- Your branch will make every attempt to ensure that organized programs (such as group exercise classes, massage therapy, swim lessons, etc.) will run as scheduled, provided there is appropriate, qualified staff.
- Your Y will place recorded announcements on our telephone greeting by 5 am, and throughout the day as needed. We encourage members to call their Y or check this website prior to visiting.
- Push notifications will be sent via the Mobile App. We encourage you to download it.
If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the Member Services Director at your local Y branch. The YMCA of Snohomish County will make every attempt to adhere to this policy, but reserves the right to close its facilities at any time, based on the severity of the weather and road conditions.
If you have children in any YMCA School-Age Child Care or ECE programs, please review the separate Child Care Severe Weather Policy.
