Health & Safety

Your child’s health and safety is our top priority. All Y staff are trained in extensive health and safety protocols including how to screen for symptoms, handwashing, maintaining physical distance, frequent cleaning, and what to do if someone develops signs of COVID-19.

Here’s how the Y keeps your child safe:

  • Curbside or doorside child drop off and pick up systems that keep families physically distant
  • Y staff wear cloth face coverings at all times
  • Children and youth ages five years or older wear cloth face coverings while indoors. Read about exceptions and exemptions here.
  • Wellness checks performed daily upon entry
  • Group sizes and child:staff ratio limited to minimize contact with new individuals
  • Fresh air and outdoor time maximized to the furthest extent possible
  • Meals and snack times staggered and spaced to prevent mixing groups
  • Tables and eating areas spaced and sanitized before and after each group eats
  • All programs located in areas with adequate handwashing facilities
