At the Monroe/Sky Valley Family YMCA, we offer a wide variety of Health and Wellness programs from personal training to group exercises, including group cycle, aerobics, yoga, and specialty programs. View our group exercise schedules for more details.

New Year New You Challenge: Self Care | Ages 16+

Holidays got you stressed? Take your New Year resolution back to basics with our Self Care Challenge. Life can get so busy that we forget to really look after ourselves. Take a deep dive these next six weeks into what your mind, body and spirit are really craving. Via email, you’ll be provided with: Six smoothie recipes to jump-start your day each morning. Six hearty lunch/dinner recipes to try once (or more) per week. Six workouts to power you through each week. Daily positive affirmations to remind you that you’re awesome.

When: Tuesdays, January 7-February 11 | 10-10:45 am 

Cost: $48 FM | $60 PM

Preschool Dance Class | Ages 3-5

Preschool Dance is a fun way to help your child’s development of coordination, balance, and strength. Join instructor, Missy Olson, as she uses music, movement, and singing to introduce a foundation of ballet dance and tumbling basics. Participants will work on fine motor skills by learning to hop, skip, and gallop and increase hand and eye coordination with the use of props. Participants also will build confidence in trying new things in a fun, friendly, and encouraging environment!

When: Tuesdays, January 7-February 11 | 10-10:45 am 

Cost: $48 FM | $60 PM

Youth Strength Training | Ages 10-15

This 7-week series will get youth introduced to strength training. Starting with functional movement, it will give them the framework for basic strength training moves using weights. We will include body weight based exercises and build large muscle group activation. From there the weeks will break down into more specific strength moves.

When: Thursdays, January 16-February 27 | 5-6 pm 

Cost: $65 FM | $80 PM | Price includes a water bottle 

Myofascial Release | Ages 18+

Do you have muscle pain, tightness, decreased range of motion,    headaches, tendinitis, postural deviations or body imbalances? MFR is a safe and effective method where sustained pressure using various tools and techniques are applied to help release bound fascia. This technique can be uncomfortable in the process, but you will walk away feeling amazing having just given yourself a deep tissue massage. Everyone is welcome. Class is taught by Andrea Larson, 200-RYT and MFR certified.

Mondays, 10:45 –11:45 am

Session 1: January 27-February 10 | Going over Superficial Back Line, Functional Back Line and Functional Front Line, Superficial Front Line and Deep Front Line.

Session 2: February 24-March 9 | Going over Arm Line, Spiral Line, and Lateral Line

Cost: $35 FM| $55 PM | OR register for BOTH $60 FM | $100 PM

Y Girls Lift | Ages 10-16

Come learn how to use equipment safely and with confidence. Discover what you like most about exercise, and maybe about yourself. Bring a friend, mom, sister, neighbor, or someone else you look up to for a fun weight lifting experience designed just for girls. Discover your power! Wear comfortable exercise clothes/shoes and bring water.

Thursdays, February 6-March 12 | 4:45-6:15 pm
Cost: $135 for a pair Facility Members | $150 for a pair Program Members | Cost includes a multi-use headband

Small Group Cooking with Mel | Ages 18+

Would you like to learn more about whole-food-plant-based cooking options? Grab a friend few friends and sign up for a small group cooking class with Mel to learn how to prep and cook a nutrient-packed, flavorful meal, while learning about the amazing benefits of whole-food-plant-based eating. Plus, get meal plan tips, create nutrition goals, and more.

When: Schedule a time with Melina. Register at Member Services.
Cost: $75 FM Per Person minimum 4 people

Wellness Yoga

This class is done mostly seated, and focuses on mobility needs: Increasing balance, core strength, joint mobility, movement pattern fluidity, nervous system and mind body connections. Catering to age related issues, people with Parkinson’s Disease, MS, and anyone who just wants to stay moving with stability, peace, and ease. Everyone is welcome, YMCA membership not required.

Mondays and Wednesdays | Noon – 1:15 pm
Cost: $5 per person | $3 for caregivers | First class free to all

Racquetball Courts

Come play racquetball and volleyball at our Y. Spaces available all day, and you can reserve a court up to 24 hours in advance. We provide all the equipment you need, but feel free to bring your own equipment as well. Please call 360 805 1879 to reserve a court, or stop by the Welcome Center.

90 Days to Wellness

90 Days to Wellness is a special program designed for our members to have a healthy living experience like no other. During the 90 days members will have an opportunity to select one of three exclusive programs only offered at the Monroe YMCA where they will work with not only our amazing Wellness staff but also build relationships within our community. Members will be connected with a Wellness Coach that best fits their lifestyle and guided through three months of fitness and nutritional education. Some of our amazing program offerings included will be free wellness appointments (unlimited to you), group exercises classes, group cycle, walking group, pizza night, family fun activities and more.
