Teens, tweens, and everyone in between are welcome at the Y. Your membership is the first step to meeting new friends, playing sports, getting in shape to feel great, and reaching academic goals. We’ve created the following programs to ensure a safe, fun, and successful environment for all Y members.
One week, or the whole summer. Indoors and out. On their own or in a group.
Archery to arts, canoes to campfires, at YMCA summer camp your kids will have an amazing experience, all in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Since its inception, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As part of the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Big Brothers Big Sisters is always in need of mentors, learn more here.
Partnering with the YMCA will demonstrate how two non-profits can work closely and effectively together to serve and impact the community in a positive way.
Leaders Clubs help develop youth ages 12 to 18 as leaders while fostering a culture of service. With adult advisors, teens have role models and mentors who can have a positive impact on their lives as they grow in their desire and ability to be a positive force in the community.
My Achievers Program
Teens are supported in a setting and work towards achieving high education and career goals with a social justice platform. We provide opportunities for college and career exploration through field trips and workshops.
Youth & Government
Engage in community service through civics! Participants discuss current events and issues important to them and our community while working on public speaking, leadership, and social skills. Weekly meetings prepare youth for a four day mock legislative session in Olympia in early May.
Youth Development Center (YDC)
Bring your friends and make new ones at the place youth love to hang. Loaded with board games, video games, and craft supplies there is always something to do in the YDC! A staff member is always on hand to supervise, play a game, or help with homework.
The YMCA offers various volunteer opportunities in different areas. Contact your local YMCA to find out how you can get involved.
