It’s Not Just Kids Stuff

Today, older adults are more health conscious than ever before. The YMCA offers seniors the opportunity to maintain a healthy lifestyle, healthy relationships, and a positive outlook on life. Active older adults live longer and have better functional conditioning. That is why the YMCA offers water exercise, yoga, walking clubs stretching and toning classes, volunteer opportunities, and social events.

Programs include group exercise classes, social events, low impact water exercise, community education and more!

If you are a participating health insurance benefit member, you are entitled to full use of the Y and all six Snohomish County YMCA branches.

Right Start

Sometimes we need a little extra support to start working out or changing healthy habits. Our Wellness Coaches offer 45 minute sessions to discuss goals, provide support, and coaching to help you get started. This service is included with your membership, sign up for an appointment at the Welcome Center.

Personal Training

Working one-on-one with one of our experienced certified trainers will give you a customized workout that meets your specific needs. Strength training is powerful in reducing the signs and symptoms of numerous diseases and chronic conditions. Sign up at the Welcome Center.

Trips, Travels & Events

Enjoy both foreign and domestic travel opportunities, as well as the many day trips (e.g. whale watching, wine tasting, museums), potlucks, picnics, special event programs, educational seminars, and more!

Walk Group

Let’s get out and enjoy our world! Volunteer, Gene Baker leads us on our local walk. Meet in the lobby at the Y to get into carpool groups, sign/scan-in and get driving directions from the Walk/Hike Binder. Bring good walking/hiking shoes, layers for temperature, bring a rain coat or umbrella, snack or lunch and WATER. A camera is handy as well as walking poles. Invite a friend!

Walk Group will continue through the Fall and Winter as the weather allows.

October 11-Everett Historical Homes (7 K distance)

October 18-La Conner Town Walk (5/10 K distance)

October 25-Everett Waterfront (10-12 K distance)

November 1-Anacortes downtown & Waterways (5/10 K)

Hike Group

Volunteer Holly Bunnell leads us in another month of hikes to different lookouts in our area. Bring good hiking shoes, water, snacks or pack a lunch and layers. A camera will be handy as well, first aid kit and sunscreen. Invite a friend! Want to join the next hike? Text or call Holly for hike location and information. Location of hike will be determined on the prior Friday and sent by group message/txt.

Find out what’s happening this month for Active Older Adults at your YMCA! Come have coffee and a snack with our Y Volunteer, Bert. Get updated information and share your ideas for AOA activities. Also make a new friend or two!

The New Chinese Acrobats at Mount Baker Theater

Travel with us on the Y Bus to see The New Chinese Acrobats! Get ready for artistry combined with awe-inspiring feats from this company created in collaboration  with the world-famous Cirque Eloize. The New Chinese Acrobats represent the evolution of Eastern acrobatics, mixing new techniques with ancient traditions and folk are to stunning  effect at the Mount Baker Theater in Bellingham. After the show the group will stop at D’Annas Café Italiano for dinner.

Transportation and ticket to show are included in this trip. Please be prepared to purchase your own dinner.
