Jonathan Rainey is on staff with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Greater Seattle. He is also the Chaplain for the University of Washington Huskies Football Team and Co-Chaplain for the Seattle Seahawks. Joanthan is responsible for establishing FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) on College Campuses in the Greater Seattle area.
Jonathan was born in Tupelo, MS and attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA; majoring in pre-med and accounting with a minor in French. He has a Masters of Biblical Counseling, Masters of Divinity, and he is a Certified Exchange Life Biblical Counselor.
Jonathan also played football for Morehouse; he was a three-year starter and the Defensive Back of the Year his Junior season. It was during this time that his passion for God and for serving people grew. He no longer pursued a career in medicine or business, but a career in serving God by ministering to athletes. He has worked with FCA on the campuses of Georgia Tech and the University of Mississippi before coming to Seattle.
Jonathan’s greatest accomplishment is his relationship with God and finding his wife Cynthia Sim Rainey. Jonathan and Cynthia have two children together; Josiah Victorious Sim Rainey and Arabella Amari Sim Rainey. Jonathan has a passion for God and athletes. His motto in life is to be “obsessed with God and passionate about people.”
