Days & Hours:
Monday-Friday, hours vary based on school district remote learning schedules. Must be available to work 8am-3pm.
Education & Experience

Education Assistants perform a variety of instructional, on-line learning support and child supervision duties to assist YMCA staff during synchronous instruction time for remoter learning start to the school year.

Education & Qualifications:
• Prefer completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 quarter credits) OR completion of an associate's (or higher) degree.
• Knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Experience and/or training with cultural and learning diversity

• Ability to work with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
• Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Assists students and Y staff for the purpose of completion of on-line learning during designated synchronous/real-time instruction.
• Works collaboratively with a team of staff to ensure every child is successful in learning.
• Participates in meetings and training for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving the child and family experience during remote learning.
• Oversees students in the remote learning setting for the purpose of maintaining and providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Provides general remote learning classroom assistance for staff for the purpose of providing general support for online activities related to learning goals and objectives.
