Spring Break Cooking Classes

Ages: 4-9

Looking for something to do over your spring break? What better way to celebrate a week off school than making some delicious food and developing culinary skills! Join us for this special class as we make and enjoy a variety of spring time favorites. You will have the opportunity to eat your creations in class as well as take some home.  Any experience level is welcome for these classes.

Looking for something to do over your spring break? What better way to celebrate the holidays than a day of baking delicious treats? Join us for this special class as we make and enjoy a variety of snacks and treats. You will have the opportunity to eat one of our creations in class and can bring the other food home to share with the entire family.  Any experience level is welcome for these classes.

APRIL 8 -KIDS' NIGHT OUT

Kids’ Night Out                                                                                                         

AGES: 4-12                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Looking for a time where your kids can have a blast while you take some time for yourself? Then we have just the event for you! Kids’ Night Out provides the perfect night for parents to take some time for themselves while we watch the kids!  We will engage them in games, activities, crafts, as well as time in our gym and Adventure Zone! Plus, we will provide them with dinner. Make it a play date too and invite some of their friends. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity!

APRIL 15 -SPRING FLING

SPRING FLING                                                                  

All Ages Welcome!

Join us in the gym on Saturday, April 15, from 2-4 pm for our Spring Fling! We will have a variety of stations with numerous activities that you and the whole family will enjoy. Plus we will play organized games, enjoy a snack, and have a variety of crafts. This event is free for YMCA facility members and a great way to connect with other families. In the YMCA gym.

APRIL 21 -DATE NIGHT

They will have a blast at the Y while you can go out and enjoy dinner and a movie. We will provide your kids dinner and we will play games in the gym, adventure zone, and watch a kid-friendly movie. COOKING SKILLS FOR LIFE - Junior Chef’s Academy

New recipes!! Learn a lifelong skill, have a good time, and get messy all while creating and tasting delicious foods and treats! We will integrate culinary skills such as dicing, sautéing, kneading, and baking.

Create delicious food, explore healthy eating habits, discover new recipes, and develop a lifelong passion. Join us for this highly interactive culinary class to inspire a new generation!

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT CENTER

Come join us afterschool to relax, visit our teen café, or challenge your friends to a game of pool, ping pong or Wii U.

Teen Café will offer snacks, smoothies and yoguccinos.

We also have dodgeball games starting at around 3 for students to participate in. 

Free and open to all middle and high school students

STAND UP SPEAK OUT -Youth & Government

 

Students grades 8-12 hone their opinions and have their voices heard on the issues that matter to them. Participants will develop public speaking skills, write legislative bills, and debate important current issues with peers. Program culminates in a trip to Olympia where participants put their new skills to use.

GIRLS OF PROMISE - Stanwood Middle School

Grades 6-8, Stanwood Middle School

A lunch time program to support and nurture the health and well-being of middle school girls while building their leadership skills and commitment to service. Meeting weekly, girls participate in experiential workshops, discussions, and interaction with female role models around the themes of wellness, service, and leadership.  Weekly participation is free.

MY ACHIEVERS PROGRAM - Stanwood High School School


Stanwood High School & Lincoln Hill High School: Mondays at LHHS commons, Wednesdays at SHS library 2:10-4:00.

Students receive healthy snacks, homework time, listen to guest speakers, perform community service activities, attend college tours, and participate in field trips. This program helps keep kids active and engaged, resulting in improved academic achievement, leadership development, and self-confidence.
