Teens

Teens, tweens, and everyone in between are welcome at the Y. Your membership is the first step to meeting new friends, playing sports, getting in shape to feel great, and reaching academic goals. We’ve created the following programs to ensure a safe, fun, and successful environment for all Y members.

7th Period

7th Period at the Y includes a supervised drop-in center, homework help, sports, weight training, STEAM activities, and a whole lot of fun. Transportation provided from Park Place and Hidden River Middle Schools.

Monday -Friday, and early release days (following the Monroe School District calendar).

Cost: $25 per month

Additional Information: Students who qualify for free/reduced lunch are free of charge, but they are still required to register.

Middle School Madness

Join the fun the second Saturday of each month for Middle School Madness. We take over the building from 5:30-8:30 pm and participate in a variety of themed activities.

Cost: $5 per student

MAP (My Achievers Program)

MAP motivates and advocates for disadvantaged and underrepresented youth to achieve higher education goals. Focused on social justice, MAP encourages students to have meaningful conversations about culture, identity, social responsibility and more. We also provide help with homework, preparation for the transition to high school, and opportunities for college and career exploration.

Youth Cooking -Taste the World II | Ages 5-11

Come join us for round 2 of cooking and tasting foods from around the world.

January 15 Japan | Japanese Pizza and Mochi
January 22 France | Baked Brie, Ratatoullie, and Crème Brulee
January 29 Greece | Greek Salad, Greek Fries, and Gyros
February 5 Ireland | Irish Stew and Apple Cake
February 12 Italy | Lasagna, Italian Chop Salad, and Tiramisu
February 19 Brazil | Pão de Queijo, Feijão Tropeiro, and Brigadeiros

Youth Art-Zentangled Creations | Ages 5-11

Zentangle method is an easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus, creativity, and detail.

Thursdays | January 18-February 22 | 5:30-7 pm
Cost: $50 FM | $60 PM

Music Lessons | Ages 8+

30 minute private lessons with instructor Tom McMail. Lessons for any of the following instruments: piano, guitar, flute, french horn, trumpet, baritone horn, trombone, recorder, mandolin, or ukulele.

Monthly lessons will be a 30 minute time slot on Thursdays, arranged between student and instructor.
