ACT! Actively Changing Together

Healthy Habits, Healthy Kids

ACT! is a nutrition, activity, and self-improvement program for youth ages 8-11 and teens ages 12-14 and their parents. This is a community-based program for youth who are overweight or at risk of becoming overweight. A YMCA Health & Well-Being Team teaches fun ways to be active, eat, and create healthy lifestyles for the whole family. To be involved in ACT!, one adult family member or guardian must participate.

How to Enroll

It's this easy:

  • Talk to your healthcare provider about the ACT! program.
  • If you and your provider decide this program is right for you, your provider will fax a referral to the Y of your choice.
  • Once the referral is complete, the ACT! staff will call to invite your family to an orientation meeting.

For more information on the ACT! program, contact the Health & Wellness Director at your nearest Y.
